Ddisselblom has been entertaining crowds since 2001 with the unique combination of original music, Johrne's comedy and Lienka's angel voice. The band's music can be best described as Adult Contemporary Folk-rock and fans include both young and old. The live show and albums both display the unique and diverse style of song writing and stage personality of Johrne van Huyssteen, Lienka and Jaco Spies.

Collaborations with artists like Anton Goosen, Koos Kombuis and the internationally renowned Stef Bos is just some of the many highlights the band has enjoyed over the last couple of years. Ddisselblom also received the KANNA Award for Contemporary Music (KKNK 2002) and further 3 GMT Awards 2003/4 for Best Video, Best Afrikaanse Band and Best Live Performance.

ddisselblom has waited a long three years to release their new album - donker grond.  

donker grond is a return to their "musical roots".  It is a combination of beautiful love songs, comical satire and social commentary by Johrne, Jaco and Lienka.  

ddisselblom's unique sound has audiences hooked, and they can expect new songs such as Kiepie en Kandas, Vryburger, Verdwyn, Moolah, Jobangensburg and Voorstedelike liefde.
