MORE about CH2...

Leon Gropp

Leon's musical career started at the tender age of 3 when he performed one of the best known hit songs, “Baa, Baa black sheep”, at bathtime one evening…

On a more serious note (no pun intended), he formed part of the pop group “Hi-5” in 2005, travelling both nationally and internationally. Leon graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2006, majoring in Statistics. During this time he was also a member of the internationally acclaimed “Tuks Camerata”. He is currently reading for his honours degree in Statistics at the same university.

He has been playing the acoustic guitar for about 8 years, and his love of the guitar grew together with his love of singing. For the past 2 years, he has been receiving classical guitar tuition from the well-known guitar maestro, Charl Lamprecht.

In his spare time he enjoys long walks on the beach in his leopard skin Speedo with a Pina Colada in each hand! (well……not really, but it sounds like fun!)

Leon is considered by most of his friends to be …really rather special…and even a little bit crazy!

Corneille Hutten-Burger

Corneille started playing the guitar at the age of 6 years on a four string plastic toy guitar after watching David Kramer on television. The guitar was bought at the OK Bazaars… A modest beginning for a very dedicated musician!

After “careful” consideration it was decided that he should have a real guitar as well as lessons, which he started with Belgian guitarist, Yvon Syx. Upon Yvon's return to Belgium , Corneille continued his tuition with maestro Charl Lamprecht.

He matriculated at the Pro Arté School for the Arts, majoring in music.

Corneille excelled in this instrument and started with solo performances and regular recitals. Music career highlights include a number of awards as a solo guitarist, national performances with orchestras in concertos, obtaining a silver medal in the Performance Certificate at the Trinity College of Music, London , and overall winner of numerous Eisteddfods.

Corneille is also an avid composer with many of his pieces been given airtime on radio stations, as well as international recognition.

Their new album- It's about time - available from February 2008.
